What Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, and Lori Harvey Have Taught Us About Dating
We've all been through a breakup or a few! Usually, we go through several stages, similar to the five stages of grief. First is denial, we can’t believe it’s really over so we convince ourselves the break is only brief. Then we go through a period of anger, bashing our ex and regretting we ever even gave them the time of day. Shortly after that, we may begin to bargain with our ex and agree to an amicable split. Depression then sets in and we grieve the relationship for months or even years. Finally, we accept that the relationship is over and we even consider moving on.
Those days may be long gone as fierce women like Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift, and Lori Harvey have shown us the way by bypassing the first four stages of grief and skipping straight to acceptance. Gone are the days when we explain ourselves and why the relationship dissolved! Gone are the days we are caught out looking ragged and heartbroken. We say “Thank You, NEXT!”
As women, it's not always easy to make a clean getaway but these bombshells have done it time and time again. There are so many rumors often spread when a woman leaves a relationship and moves on. People are curious and making assumptions, for example when Lori Harvey broke up with Micheal B. Jordan, thousands of people searched “Why did Lori Harvey and MBJ break up?” and “Who is Lori Harvey in a relationship with?”. Lori could’ve easily taken advantage of the press and cleared up any misconceptions but instead, she gracefully popped out with her new beau.
These ladies are literally moving on without any bad blood, at least publicly. Despite Taylor Swift’s hit song “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar, after ending a 6-year relationship Taylor didn't miss a day of work and kept up appearances. She even addressed the ending of her relationship with Joe Alywn by releasing a statement that they will remain friends. So it’s safe to say there is still mad love and no bad blood!
When Kendall Jenner and Devin Booker split she enjoyed herself with friends and the couple went their separate ways but still liked each other's pictures on Instagram from time to time.
We could learn a thing or two from these women as times have changed and we no longer wallow in sadness over broken relationships. Stigmas of women moving on too quickly are so dated and biased! If you find yourself at the end of a relationship take a note from these influential women. Stay active in your life, find comfort in your friends, take time for yourself and when you are ready find someone else.
